a little photoshop fun....

so I decided I would practice something...movement in a photo...um, I might be adding this to every session now.  I love it.  Here is my first attempt at creating that (and yes, I realize that you have to start somewhere.  Ha)  ...keep in mind I'm using photos I took a few months ago...plan on taking some Christmas snow photos this Christmas break!  :)

Carter | Colorado Springs Newborn Photographer

I'm going to be honest with you.  This session, well, I might have been a touch nervous to do it.  Carter is 8 weeks...and any newborn photographer knows the best window of time is in the first 2 weeks.

But honestly, maybe I found a new favorite age.  Carter, his big blue eyes so focused and clear.  His cheeks rounded out...ah, I just need to say he made my heart a big pile of mush.  Just fell in love with this sweet boy.  And his parents, so unashamed in their love for him.  Absolutely beautiful for me to observe.  And something I needed to see.  This session came at the right time as a precious gift.

Okay, I know before I lose you all...its true.  I needed to remember how precious that sweet life is.  How much love can be wrapped up in just a look.  How fresh and innocent those sweet babies are.  Makes me want to hug my own babies...to tell them they are not allowed to grow anymore...just one more time.  ;p

Grady | 8 days new | Colorado Springs Newborn Photographer

Tones of cream and taupe...add in a gorgeous newborn boy and you have your selves the making of a great newborn set up.  ;p  Loved this session.  Grady was so sweet and had a rhythm of his own.  Oh yes, each newborn is completely different.   For instance, Grady does not like to sleep on his belly but on his side...and he's okay with letting me know.  ;p  I really love that about photographing newborns.  Some hate to have their hands touched, or their toes...its about working with your child.  And I really feel the best sessions are about listening to them.  I know I sound weird.  But its true.  So every newborn session done with me will be unique to your child.  Anyway, enjoy a few pics of handsome Grady!  :)

Colorado Springs Portrait Photographer

Oh my goodness, these boys had so much energy.  And Brittney and Doug kept right up with them.  Drake loved running around and exploring and wanted to go into the "forest".  Dixie their, new puppy, had the most beautiful eyes, and quite honestly I'm surprised we got him to sit still long enough for one family photo.

Garden of the Gods | Colorado Springs Family Portrait Photographer

There is something particularly heart warming in watching a dog owner love on their babies.  Or a dog being so completely enamored in their owner.  Its sweet, innocent and completely honest.   What a fun change for me when I was asked to take a few photos of this sweet family.  And yes, its a family.

A Gorgeous Red Barn | Castle Rock Family Photographer

This family session...really stood out to me.  Yes, I LOVED sweet Lily.  Her natural tendancy to explore.  Her shy smiles she would give me.  But my favorite moment was when Papa (Lindsay's Dad) showed up.  Her face broke into the biggest smile I have ever seen.  I have never seen such love with a grandparent.  I mean I have but just not to that extent.  Whenever Papa would put her down, the tears and sadness would begin...but stop when he came back.  Uh, so cute.  Anyway, enjoy a few pics from that late afternoon!

Garden of the Gods | Colorado Springs Family Photographer

Such a beautiful day!  And this family was willing to hike a bit to get the gorgeous backdrop of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.  In my opinion...well worth it.  ;p  Blake, Robin and Jeff were so fun to work with.  So easy to talk and laugh with.  Enjoy a few photos from that late afternoon!
