Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer - Briarhurst Manor - Andrew and Sara

This sweet day, absolutely a beautiful day.  The sun shining just for this beautiful wedding.  Yes, that's how I looked at it.   I got to know Sara and Andrew and her sweet boys on their engagement session...if you want to check it out...click on this e-session

I love watching them.  Their happiness, well, you will see that it was so evident on their faces.  Sara, your dress, absolutely stunning and you looked GORGEOUS!   The song by train, constantly ran through my mind that day...making me quite the big sap...hey, I don't deny it.  But the song Marry Me...it just so describes that day.  Especially the line, "you wear white and I'll wear out the words I love you...and your beautiful"  It was so obvious in Andrew's eyes that he loved Sara so much and could not take his eyes off of her.  Loved that.

The friendships and the sweet connection that Sara and Andrew felt for all the guests...it was so touching for me to be a part of that.  The support and love from Sara's parents...beautiful and brought me to tears a few times.   Nicoli and Jonathan, the part time camera men (boys)...made me laugh.  So excited to be a part of such a big and special day.  And their obvious love for Andrew was amazing.

Briarhurst manor...such a beautiful and amazing place.  Ivy trailing up walls, almost castle like in its appearance.  The staff that was so accommodating and helpful in making this such a special day for Sara and Andrew.  Absolutely a breathtaking location.

Andrew and Sara...you are so inspiring in how you love each other.  Beautiful in how you interact with the people you love.  I simply wish you the best...and I am so thankful for being a part of your special day.

So here are a few pics from that gorgeous afternoon....

Sara, you are CRAZY beautiful.

The beautiful Mr. and Mrs...seriously, look at that light.

The fabulous four...seriously, you all made me laugh so much that day.

Yes, these two pretty much teased each other all day...loved them

Just in case you were wondering...these two are in love as well...it was contagious.  ;p  PS alex, you are beautiful...just sayin.

The moment I got teary eyed...when Sara danced with her Dad.  So sweet and so special.   So brought back so many memories with my dad...just beautiful.

Colorado Springs Family Photographer - The "W" Family

Beautiful, sweet, funny and kind family.  Seriously, loved being around them.  From the very beginning, through email,  Laurie was funny and sweet...  Hayley, the youngest, loved watching her talk with her older brother and sisters...it reminded me of me with my sisters growing up.  The baby and SO loved, so protected.  This whole family just seemed to enjoy teasing eachother...and I laughed so much watching them do just that.   Laurie loved making Terry laugh or smile...love.

Taking pictures of them, it was as if they were used to it.  So relaxed and completly at ease with me.   Austin, you have some serious mad skills with your guitar and hope that you take that with you...wherever you go.

Here are a few pics from that sweet sunny afternoon...

Sun flare - I heart faces -

So...I'm thinking many of you all ready know...that I simply love the sun.  And no, not just because it makes me look better. ;p  But because of how it makes my clients look.  I especially LOVE the soft golden colors and the halo effect around their hair.  Which is a number one reason I schedule sessions close to sunset.
But the sun, can add some serious beautiful emotion to a picture.  Makes you want to dive right into that photo and feel it.  Well, it does for me.  ;p  This sweet picture...a little girl, playing in her own little world.  Was unaware of really anything but her imagination.   BUT this shot, with the sun, the mountains and that sweet beautiful light will probably go down as one of my favorites.

There are SO many touching, beautiful portraits going on over at I heart faces this week...click on the link below to check them out!  Thanks for stopping by!

Colorado Springs Family Photographer - The "T" Family

Windy and a bit chilly.  But this did not stop this sweet family from running around...okay so this was mostly Logan who was running and myself because I was chasing him.  What...I might act like a total fool and really I love it.  Because being around kids you kind of need to.

My photo sessions, I want to capture a family interacting.  Whether that's laughing at your sweet son or daughter...or a secret look that the parents give each other that tells me they are happy together.  Those are the photos I cherish in mine, so of course I want that to spill over into my business.

Liz and Jeremy wanted photos because he will be leaving in May for a year.  UM, yes...a year.  To serve our country and protect what so often we take for granted.  Being a part of this sweet families moments for just a little bit...its such an honor.  The military is such a unique life...and one that I think most of us don't understand but respect it.  I am consistently blown away by families who live this way...because each and every time their strength and love shine through.  So cool for me to see.

Logan and Charlotte...opposites you could say.  Logan...energetic and seriously fast seemed to take to me right away.  And yes, my heart melts when this happens.  Loved watching him with my little vintage camera...I think he might have thought he was really taking pictures of me.  Then sweet little Charlotte...taking me in.  Observant and maybe a touch shy. What I absolutely loved about her...Daddy's girl.  Completely loved being tucked away in his arms.  The smiles that I could only coax out of her if he was holding her.  How precious.

What a sweet, sweet family...enjoy some of our pics from that afternoon!

Colorado Springs Newborn Photographer - The V family!

Sweet, new, soft, happiness...those are some of the feelings I have around little tiny newborns.  I really LOVE them.  I just love looking at them.  All the little details.  Their tiny hands and feet.  Their sweet soft hair...its really such a joy to be able to photograph them.  Don't get me wrong though...its tough work.  What?  you say?  Its true...but for me its worth the patience, the hot rooms and the billions of props that I bring and barely use.

I love observing the parents, the siblings (if their are any) its such a unique time of life and it goes so quickly.  But its the beginning.  The moments in life that you will look back on later that mark the beginning of a sweet family.  And I so love being a part of that...even if its just to capture a few of those moments.   So inspiring, and so precious to me.

This family, so laid back and so loving.  Both of the boys are ADORABLE.  Travis and Trevor.  While one loved to be awake the WHOLE time...you could sense his curiosity.  So beautiful to watch him.  And the other...loved to sit on my baskets, suitcases...play peek-a-boo with the blanket, give me hugs...oh how I love that sweet little boy.

Enjoy some of our pics from that afternoon!  :)

anything but a face...I Heart faces!

This weeks challenge...a photo that does not have a face in it.  I LOVE that.  Why...because I am absolutely a hands girl.  Yes, that's a weird thing to say...but I love taking pictures of hands.  Especially my babies.  They express so much love, what type of person you are...and even your age.  And I love it.  This photo I chose...my son who is two years younger than my daughter and it looks like he dwarfs her.  But what I also love...its a beautiful contrast of boy and girl.
There are a ton of beautiful entries going on right now at i heart faces!  Go check them out by linking on to this tab below...
