Carnivals, fun slides and my brother Josh and Lindsey...

Carnival = Happiness

Memories, I have a lot of warm sunny days in my childhood.  Specifically carnivals...the cotton candy, the giant stuffed animals, Ferris wheels, tilt o'whirls (not really sure of the name) fun slides...and mazes, the crowds.  All sorts of crazy things to look at in a carnival.

                       Josh + Lindsey = Happiness

My brother Josh and my sister in law Lindsey chose this carnival for their photo session while I'm here.  (pssst, I'm in AZ and I'm LOVING it)  :)
One year ago, I was shooting their wedding (with the lovely Kreatid) watching my brother marry the perfect match for him.  I simply love them both.  Both of them can make me laugh till tears fall down my face. Their friendship is important and valuable to me.  Love you.

Josh...my brother.  So a part of who I am...who I've become.  He's the one (one of many) who...encouraged me to go after photography...supporting me with encouragement AND he happened to be a huge role in getting me a pretty sweet lens...35mm.  So every time I use it..I think of this couple...this guy...my brother.

So was I CRAZY excited to be hanging out with them. Um, yes...on so many levels. Love them and love their style. ;p Enjoy some of our pics!

Family + Annie (their dog) and the forest.

Annie is the name of their beautiful dog.  What caught my eye about her is her relationship with Ted (the father).  Unique...or what you would classically call the "bond" they have.  Annie...really LOVES Ted...and vise versa.  Man's best friend...I always thought it was kind of a myth.  But you could actually see the expression on her sweet face.  Loved watching them.  It was def a challenge to get her to look at me and not Ted...I tried whistling...jumping up and down.  Nope, she just wanted to gaze into Ted's eyes.  Made me laugh...and I loved her for it.
This was a fun session for me to interact with adults for a change.  I could be as bossy as I wanted (okay, I wasn't bossy...but I could have if I wanted to)
We did our session in their backyard and beautiful deck! Loved their house...and the backyard...seemed like miles of big pine trees ( a forest you could say. ;p ) Austin, Addison and Adam...super fun and once they got used to the idea of me being there (I can picture the "ah dad not family pictures" moment)...they had all sorts of ideas to try out. And that is what I enjoy watching...this family loves each other and they just had fun!

Sunshine...

I went to this photo session...with a bit of a heavy heart.  I admit it.  You see, my husbands car had gotten broken into that morning...so my thoughts were distracted.  But as soon as I got to see Miss Soleil again, well, I guess you could say it was like sunshine to my day.  Soleil is a beautiful and very shy little girl...BUT she totally warmed up to me.  I may have had to quack like a duck (yes, I've been known to do some unique things) but the best part...glitter.  Yes, her face lit up like it was the best gift in the whole wide world.  I told her it was fairy dust.  I can still see that sweet smile of hers when she had it in her little hands...and then all over her face.  Whoops...should have thought of that one.

So, this little girl will forever be that sweet part of my day...enjoy some of her pics!

Gorgeous woman...

Dottie, someone who laughs easily, loves deeply, gives often...and is gorgeous.  Simply a stunning woman.  Her eyes...express a lot and are just a beautiful shade of blue/green.  Loved working with her!   I wish I had taken the time to just take a picture of her boots...AH-MAZING.  ;p   Quite the stylish lady...and I had serious envy over them.    What a fun time to hang out downtown and get to know this fun and outgoing woman!  Enjoy some of our pictures from that afternoon!

Hello Blue eyes...

Oh my goodness...this had to be one of the HAPPIEST baby I have ever photographed!  Seriously...his grin is about a mile wide.  Loved him and his beautiful blue eyes.  Not only is Xander, crazy cute...but he has super fun parents!  Natasha with her california blonde hair and blue eyes and Gerry with his dark good looks...can I say that?  ;P  Anyway, the contrast made for a stunning couple!   Then you throw in their beautiful dogs...Such a happy family!

The sun set super fast but was it enough to capture that sweet golden light you know I love to use.  Enjoy a few of this sweet families photos!

Love you forever...by Robert Munsch

A mother held her new baby and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she held him, she sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house. He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator and he took his mother's watch and flushed it down the toilet. Sometimes his mother would say, "this kid is driving me CRAZY!"
But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet, she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed; and if he was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

The boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was a teenager. He had strange friends and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music. Sometimes the mother felt like she was in a zoo!
But at night time, when that teenager was asleep, the mother opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed. If he was really asleep she picked up that great big boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

That teenager grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was a grown-up man. He left home and got a house across town. But sometimes on dark nights the mother got into her car and drove across town. If all the lights in her son's house were out, she opened his bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed. If that great big man was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

Well, that mother, she got older. She got older and older and older. One day she called up her son and said, "You'd better come see me because I'm very old and sick." So her son came to see her. When he came in the door she tried to sing the song. She sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always...

But she couldn't finish because she was too old and sick. The son went to his mother. He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my Mommy you'll be.

When the son came home that night, he stood for a long time at the top of the stairs. Then he went into the room where his very new baby daughter was sleeping. He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked her he sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

hmmm, if you are not in tears yet...oh I love that book.  Its sweet and SO touching...and perfectly describes the love a parent has for their children.  And the love circled back in the end...gets me everytime.

I so enjoyed my Saturday afternoon with this family.  So amazing for me to see Emerson and Sawyer after having photographed Kristin's belly.  Amazing and beautiful woman who is loved by a sweet and kind man.  Loved watching the two of them interact.  Balancing twins and caring for Copeland and Ryker...totally capable and determined.  I wanted to stay the whole afternoon and into the evening just snapping pics of this beautiful family...seriously, I get way to wrapped up in what I do.  ;p   Wishing you and your family the best!

Cowboys, tutus and wranglers....

Big blue eyes look up at me...surrounded by big poofs of girly fluff (aka tutu) oh my heart melts.  Meet Miss Paisley-Rose...I got to photograph her when she was just 6 days old!  http://elizabeth-ann-photography.blogspot.com/2010/05/miss-paisley-rose.html Such a sweet, sweet little girl!

Not only can this sweet little girl rock a tutu but she can sport some wranglers like no other cowgirl I know.  Okay, maybe her Mom, Grandparents and Great grandparents can rock them too.  Also, take note of the super amazing belt buckle.  This was worn by her Mom when she was a child, as well as her grandma!  How cool is that...cool.

Now, Brandi and Zach...um super cute couple.  You can tell they are crazy in love...and Zach.  Hmm, you think silent cowboy type...but he has a BIG romantic streak.  Carrying her through the woods...throwing her on his shoulder...ah, now thats romance.  Love!

I was invited to spend the morning up at the Olson Ranch in Black Forest.  Beautiful wide open space, surrounded by trails, pine trees and beautiful, beautiful horses.  Horse drawn carriages and lessons all by Brandi's grandparents.  Loved them!   Not only is the land super beautiful but the ranch...stunning!  Knotty pine (I think...not really an expert on wood but it sounds cool) a beautiful porch.  Beautiful...thank you so much for sharing that morning with me!

Sweet little Zakk...

Happiness...expressed through this sweet little boys eyes.  Yes, he lights up and my heart simply melts.  What a happy, curious, browned eyed, little man.  He just turned one and LOVES to explore.

He started walking a couple months ago...and Zakk can move fast!  Loved chasing after him...and I'm sure I won't be the only girl chasing after him someday.

This sweet beautiful fall day...perfect.  And his parents so sweet and happy to just be.  Or like me, running around and laughing with their son.  What a fun family!

Egan and his cool parents. ;p

Edgy and cool.  First impression...not sure why.  But I get them. ;p

Shannon and Josh love the great outdoors.  I mean love it.  They mountain bike, snowboard, rock climb...I would have totally done the rock climbing thing but um, not such a great climber.  I can picture that...seriously, it would have gone badly.

Such a beautiful day for this fam!  Egan with his piercing blue eyes...they are intense blue.  Such a boy.  Loved running, jumping, throwing a football with his Dad.  Loved him!  But when the brought out his super sweet bike...he just lit up.  I couldn't believe how fast he could zoom around on that thing.  Such a fun time hanging with this fam!  Enjoy some of our pics!

Milo and his sweet family...

What a perfect fall day for this family! The sun shining, fall leaves still in their last bit of color...beautiful.  And Milo with his chocolate brown eyes...captivated me from the beginning.  Loved his sweet smile as well!

I love hearing bits and pieces about my clients.  And Deborah, she surprised me by telling me she used to be a dancer...still does now and then!  But she full on knows how to swing dance.  I'm envious of that...I completely have two left feet...yes, yes I do.  Its pretty hilarious.  Something about swing dancing...though, has such a happy vibe and feel to it.  And that completely describes Andrew and Deborah.  Both were just happy to be hanging out and watching Milo run around.  Beautiful for me to observe.

Enjoy some of our pics from that day!
